Operational Resilience ½ Day Workshop: Prepare/Respond/Recover

This workshop is designed for individuals and teams who operate in high-pressure, event-driven environments where performance matters and people need to sustain themselves through demanding periods. Ideal for deployment-based roles such as Civil Defence Emergency Management teams, coordination centres, response leaders, and support personnel.

Participants will leave with practical, evidence-based tools to help them perform well under pressure, maintain wellbeing during intense periods, and recover effectively afterwards.

You/your team will learn how to:

Strengthen the foundations of wellbeing and resilience
Build habits and systems that support energy, focus, decision-making, and emotional steadiness before pressure hits.

Thrive under pressure
Recognise stress responses early, regulate nervous system load, and apply practical strategies to stay clear-headed and effective during demanding events.

Recover well
Understand the importance of recovery after deployment, including sleep, decompression, boundaries, and restoring capacity so teams can return sustainably.

Maintain performance over time
Reduce the risk of burnout, cumulative stress, and reactive functioning by developing sustainable high-performance practices.

Support one another as a team
Strengthen connection, communication, and awareness of how stress shows up in colleagues during high-pressure operations.

Workshop outcomes:

By the end of the session, participants will have:

  • A practical framework for personal wellbeing in high-demand roles

  • Tools for managing pressure in real time

  • Strategies to recover effectively after events

  • Greater self-awareness of their own stress patterns and warning signs

  • Increased confidence to sustain performance during future deployments

Delivery format:

  • Half-day interactive workshop

  • Evidence-based and highly practical

  • Tailored examples for deployment / response environments

  • Suitable for frontline support, coordination, leadership, or mixed teams

Why this matters:

When individuals and teams are prepared psychologically and physically for pressure, they perform better during events and recover faster afterwards. Investing in wellbeing is not separate from performance, it is a foundation of it. Perform well under pressure, maintain wellbeing during intense periods, and recover effectively afterwards.
